Most Memorable Moment at Tomb:
The day when the baby squirrel climbed up my leg at the inspection point - on the INSIDE of my pants.

Another memorable moment that comes to mind is second relief was off one day in March 1969 and we were called out to open car doors for dignitaries at President (General) Eisenhower's funeral services at the US Capitol. I opened doors for the Shah of Iran, the Emporer of Ethiopia - Haile Selassie, the Governor of Michigan - George Romney (Mit's father) and Speaker of the House, McCormick. Richard Nixon and his family walked only a few feet away. After the services were over, a staff car with red flags on the fenders was approaching from underneath the east steps of the Capitol. I saluted and when I knew they couldn't see my eyes, I stole a glance down and saw a feeble hand return my salute. I saw five stars in a circle on his epaulet. It was the General of the Army and the only Five Star General left, Omar Bradley. I will never forget that moment.
