Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

 Scholarship Information

Through the generosity of members within the Society and proceeds from our Society Store, we now have funding available to provide one, perhaps two scholarships on an annual basis.

The purpose of the Scholarship Program is to provide financial assistance to members of the Society, or to their dependents that wish to pursue an undergraduate degree, associate degree, or vocational training.

Qualifications and Guidelines for Candidates for Scholarship:

Eligibility

The scholarship candidate must be a member of the Society of the Honor Guard, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (SHGTUS), a dependent of a member of the SHGTUS, or a dependent of a deceased Tomb Guard who expired before the establishment of the SHGTUS. Preference will be given to dependents of deceased members and to the dependents of those Society members who were incapacitated or killed while serving on active duty. A SHGTUS Member, who separated from the Army and is subsequently incapacitated, will receive special consideration. Selection of the recipients will be determined on the merit of each applicant’s petition.
