After getting out of Army went to work with The Equitable Life Assurance Society in Denver Colorado as a life insurance agent. Tried to be a manager for three years, and went back to being just an agent.  Took over my fathers property and casualty insurance agency in 1973, because of his health situation.  I have managed the agency and expanded through purchases of other small agencies over the years. Now our son has joined us and will be taking over in the next couple of years.

Most Memorable Moment at Tomb:
Three young men were trying to get me to smile or mess up by running from one end of the mat to the other.  The civilian guard, "Smitty", was not out there and I finally got fed up with their attitude and they were not respecting the Tomb or the other people out there.  I came down to the south end of the mat, where these three boys were standing, and I came to port arms, Ordered the three to Get Off The Plaza. Their faces dropped and their mouths opened up but they couldn't say anything.  They stood there for about 10 seconds, and I told them to Move Out Now.  After they left, I went back to my routine, and a number of people commented how proud they were of me to get them away from the Tomb.
