During the Army:
I enlisted in the Army with an MOS
of 11B in January 2004. After
leaving Ft Benning, I was assigned to the Old Guard.
In A Company, I spent 8 months on a casket team and Dover teams.
We also did Spirit of America, Twilight Tattoo, and a lot of different
things for the George’s second inauguration.
The last thing I did in A Company was go through NBC school and get
assigned to the NBC team for the inauguration. I transferred to E Company to
start training at the Tomb in January of 2005.
I completed training and received Badge #543 in September of that year.
I served on 3rd Relief until March 2006. After the Tomb, I was
assigned to the Presidential Firing Platoon in E Company.
Along with being on the Company’s primary firing party, I participated
in the 1st Annual Squad Competition, went through CLS course, and was
a part of the joint service team that did arrivals and state dinners for foreign
dignitaries. I left active duty in
February 2007 and joined the Michigan National Guard as a 68W (Combat Medic).
I was assigned to the 182nd Field Artillery for a short period
and then transferred to the 1171st Area Support Medical Command.
Aside from medic duties, I am the unit public relations liaison there.
Current

I'm a Combat
Medic with the Michigan National Guard
Family

Most Memorable Moment at Tomb:
Every
single time I got to go out there and give it my all.
What could be more memorable than representing the Army in the way we
did, to the thousands of people that came to see.
