Most Memorable Moment at Tomb:
On Memorial Day, 1955, NBC did a network telecast of its daily "Home Show" featuring Hugh Downs. I was chosen as the Sentinel to be interviewed and placed on the mat at the end of the half hour, to close the show. During the half hour live broadcast, I was asked many questions on and off the cameras, about our duty as a Sentinel. Naturally, I called all my relatives to share that experience with me. Every time I hear Hugh Downs or see him on a TV show, I get flash backs of that wonderful experience and I am reminded what being a Sentinel has meant to me.
