The “BADGE”

Have you heard of the badge it is silver

Touched only by tomb guards, not gods, just a badge.

Have you heard of the guards who do wear it

To show respect to those soldiers known but to God,

Just a badge.

Have you walked for the badge shivering and

Sweating, on a tough nine month journey for the badge.

It’s a gleam in the eyes of the public,

A feeling only our heroes have had

Mere words will never describe it

What a Tomb Guard feels for the “BADGE.”

Look After the Lonely

As he paces twenty one steps, a mother sheds a tear

A loved one stares into the past as tall he stands so near

At night he recalls the day some faces sad and lonely

As the sun rises over the white marble tombs

A voice sighs smooth and softly

Tomb Guard, look after the lonely.
